The 'virgin' variable uses age at first intercourse, not num.partners, but you'll notice that the numbers here don't agree with num.partners == 0. You might also note that a tiny number of people who've indicated that they've had casual sex also report having had 0 partners; and a non-trivial fraction of these report just 1 partner. One possibility is that students are not consistently including casual partners in their count of partners.

This variable, virgin, is constructed using information from the variable, age.at.first.intercourse.
