Aerobic Exercise

In America 70 million people say they "walk," 60 million swim, 50 million bike, 20 million join clubs, and 11.5 million do step aerobics.
What is your aerobic activity of choice? Why do most people say that they aren't coordinated and they want exercise to be as simple and mindless as possible? Why do they walk out of classes where complex combinations are being taught? Has mass exercise become as repetitive and mindless as mass television?
Studies have shown that doing complex combinations improves coordination, brain power, posture, balance etc. while building strength and stamina.
Why does the average person prefer to watch TV while doing the stairmaster?

As mindless TV is hopefully replaced by interactive internet, is there any chance that aerobics can become more of a mindbody interactive activity? If you are going to do something repetitive like running, walking, or biking would you prefer to be outdoors?

Cultures have always had rituals with dance and music but have humans ever made such a science out of exercise before our era? Not anatomy or physiology, but kinesiology? Can exercise really be a science-- compare exact and inexact sciences. Are some people's biorhythms more suited to aerobics than others? Can aerobics be an addiction like drugs or cigarette smoking?
