Research Question (Clear, unambiguous) |
"Research Question: Frustration may result
in aggression when an event is perceived
as a threat to one’s ego, where the act of aggression will be
displaced on individuals that have no personal role in the other individuals
shortcomings. " Unfortunately,
this is not a research
question as stated. |
|
Relevant
Literature |
There is a huge
literature on frustration and aggression, so it is not possible to move
forward in any way on this issue without some knowledge of the literature. |
|
Causal Interpretations (clear, all
parts defined, mechanisms, controls, plausible) |
These causal statements won't really work. "Mental disorders" in general do
not predispose people toward violence; only some do this. Frustration is such an amorphous concept,
it is not really sensible to suggest that the poor will feel more
generally. |
|
Data
(variables, sample, comparison) |
Again, the data sets
mentioned do not seem appropriate for any research design involving this
topic. |
|
Research Value |
Given that the levels of violence have dropped
considerably in the U.S. over the past two decades, it does not make much
sense to base the claim of research value on rising aggression in this
country. |
|
Overall |
Frankly, this just does
not make much sense. |
