Welcome
How do we perceive musical structure?
How do those perceptions shape our responses to music?
In order to answer these questions, I employ models and methodologies from the fields of music theory, experimental psychology, and applied mathematics. A significant component of my work entails the application of computational tools as a means of both testing and formalizing my models.
I'm currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at
New York University in the
department of Music and the Performing Arts Profession
and a member of the
NYU Music and Audio Research Lab (MARL) and
Music Technology Program.
In addition to my academic work, I
perform professionally as a harpsichordist.
