Welcome to my page. My name is Celina Charlier. 35 years old, 25 years of music.
Born in São Paulo, in 1974, I started learning music at age 10. I have played flute professionally since age 15: solos with orchestra, chamber music recitals, solo flute recitals, symphonic concerts, opera, ballet, musical theater, incidental music for theater plays, soundtracks for movies, animation, role playing game, jingles, and multimedia artistic collaborations through the Internet 2.
I have performed in Brazil, Argentina, US, Italy, France and Malta, and my repertoire encompasses from Early Music to avant garde electroacoustic, including Brazilian genres and improvisation skills in various styles.
Interested in human relationship generating music, and in the collaboration between composer and performer, I have premiered over 60 pieces composed for me, by renowned professionals and by students, as well.
I have an intense performance career as a professional flutist, I teach and also work as an arranger and conductor of youth orchestras. Currently, I am at the final stages of writing my dissertation in order to complete a PhD in Flute Performance at NYU, where I also teach flute as adjunct faculty.
