Welcome to my page. My name is Celina Charlier. 33 years old, 23 years of music. I am a Brazilian flutist, currently living in New York City.

I was born in Sao Paulo, in 1974, and started learning music at age 10. I have played professionally as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player since age 15, with a repertoire that encompasses from Early Music to Contemporary avant garde electroacoustic music, including Brazilian genres.

I am pursuing a PhD in Flute Performance at New York University, and am a founding member and leader of 2 chamber ensembles, which have performed regularly in NYC for the past 6 years: "Silver and Strings" (flute, violin, viola, cello), and "Blue Cat" (woodwinds).

In 2003, a new orchestra was born at NYU, as a branch of the NYU Community Orchestra, and I was invited to be in charge of it. From 2003 to 2006, I was the director/conductor of the "NYU Wednesday Orchestra", putting it together from scratch.

Currently, I have been performing professionally as a flute player, have been developing my conducting skills and am in the process of writing my dissertation.
