it's sort of ironic that my webpage template has a reference to driving.. well because i don't have a license, nor do i care to obtain one in the near future. i've been asked numerous times, 'so when are you going to learn how to drive?'.. and my answer continues to be 'bah. when I'm in the suburbs and need to'. living in the city, connected corner to corner by subways and buses, i really never need to even think about that mode of transportation.  so there's my justification. oh yea, let me just add that i have a semi-phobia of driving in the city. it's not as if i'm incompetent to learn the motions of driving, but rather, it's the thought of driving in the chaos of love;y new york city-- with cars and people galore to make me feel so uneasy. eh, dr. phil could surely set me straight.
LOCATION ::
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  All in all, I love this city!  You can think of anything, and most probably you'll find it located here in presence or essence.  I think the best part is how people from all walks of life-- ethnicity, religion, tradition-- come together in this melting pot of the world.   People are so tolerant with another's culture and customs.  Knowledge about another country's heritage is welcomed as can be seen by the numerous parades down 5th Avenue celebrating the heritage of one country or another.

ID ::
Muslim-America-Pakistani-Indian.  It's cool having heritage from both countries.  My mom is from Karachi, Pakistan and my dad is from Calcutta, India.  Being Muslim, following Islam, is what brings us together.

The NY Skyline (sigh, or what it used to be)

STYLE ::
unique.  a shorter version of a "kameez" or a longer version of a blouse with pants or jeans.  Up until the 2nd year of college, I strictly wore shalwar/kameez (traditional Pakistani outfit).  Dressing differently never made me feel like an outsider or unwelcomed by anyone.  I also wear a hijab-- or head scarf.  The diversity at NYU, and the surrounding area of the Village is awesome.

HUMOR ::  oh don't be so serious all the time.  laugh, smile its sunnah. Go listen to Brother Azhar Usman and laugh your head off or go watch Zoolander (disclaimer: have the fast forward button handy).  take it easy.

MUSIC ::
Whose patch did i have on my bag?  the Smashing Pumpkins' of course.  yea weird.  From the first time i heard their music up until the end, they have been truly satisfying with their variety and intelligent lyrics.
  Their best CD by far is Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness-- a must hear!  Alternative/rock music all the way.  Some Pakistani bands are living up to that sort of sound.

I have a yamaha acoustic guitar, something i've wanted for a long time.  I took a semester of classes at school, but since then i haven't really been practicing.  It definitely requires time, effort, and dedication.. i'll get into it soon enough.
BASEBALL ::
I absolutely love baseball.  The Yankees are just awesome.
TV :: Gilmore Girls, Amazing Race, E.R., X-files, Simpsons, Everwood.  Cartoons - The Weekenders, The Batman & Superman Adventures, Spiderman, X-men, and Bobby's World.

MOVIES ::  Shawshank Redemption, Face Off, The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings, The Two Towers, Gladiator, Memento, Snatch, Zoolander, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Rock, Fight Club, The Matrix, Fugitive, Die Hard: With a Vengeance, The Bourne Identity, X-Men, Snake Eyes, Rush Hour, Bravehart, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Newsies, Ghandi

Hindi Movies :: fiza, dil chahtai hai, lagaan, devdas
